Physician Interpretation Tutorials
Programs dedicated to teaching physicians the principles of interpretation of noninvasive vascular test procedures are offered on-site, locally, or regionally. Courses are directed to interpretation of physiologic studies (segmental systolic pressure measurements, pulse volume recording, arterial photoplethysmography, venous refill times) and duplex ultrasonography of the vascular systems. Instruction incorporates both lecture and practical sessions. Didactic sessions address test application, diagnostic criteria, evaluation of waveform morphology, optimization of Doppler ultrasound parameters (spectral, color, power, B-Mode), and test capabilities and limitations. Interactive interpretation sessions focus on accurate interpretation, application of diagnostic criteria, recognition of test artifacts, preparation of the final report, and quality assurance.
